Overview

Who's There ("the App") is a location-based presence app that lets you create geographic groups and share your presence at those locations with other members. Your privacy is important to us.

Information We Collect

• Location Data: The App collects your precise location to determine whether you are inside a group's geographic boundary. If you grant "Always" location permission, the App monitors geofences in the background to automatically check you in and out.
• Account Information: A display name and a unique username tag you choose. If you sign in with Apple, we receive only the identifiers Apple provides.
• Messages: Text messages you send in group chats. Messages are automatically deleted after 7 days.
• Usage Data: Anonymous analytics about how you use the App (e.g., check-in counts, feature usage) to help us improve the experience.

How We Use Your Information

• To show your presence status to other group members
• To send push notifications about friend arrivals and group activity
• To power the achievement and gamification system
• To improve the App's features and fix issues

Data Storage

Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore) servers located in the United States. Data is transmitted securely using encryption in transit.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. Your presence status is only visible to members of the groups you join. We use Firebase services by Google for backend infrastructure.

Data Retention

• Chat messages are automatically deleted after 7 days.
• Presence records are cleared when you check out or after 10 hours of inactivity.
• Account data is retained until you delete your account.

Your Rights

• Delete Account: You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Profile screen in the App.
• Location Permissions: You can change or revoke location permissions at any time in your device's Settings.
• Notifications: You can disable push notifications in your device's Settings.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
